Product Overview
H-S Precision sets the standard in performance and quality when it comes to stocks. Each stock features a 3-piece design. At the heart of every H-S Precision Stock is a CAD/CAM designed CNC machined aluminum bedding block chassis. The shell of each stock is comprised of woven Kevlar cloth, woven fiberglass cloth, uni-directional carbon fiber, an epoxy-based gel coat and a laminating resin. The core of the stock is reaction-injection-molded polyurethane foam and reinforced with fiberglass. The aluminum bedding block requires a simple tightening of the bedding screws to secure the action to the bedding block. No messy bedding compounds or time consuming work involved. Stock includes an Uncle Mike's recoil pad as well as Uncle Mike's sling swivel studs.

Location: Riverton Wyoming | Remington 700 Project Finally completed my rifle. Been waiting to get the stock inletted for sometime now to accept detachable box mags. I bought this gun intending it to be my main hunting rifle which it is. I have taken a few elk, deer and antelope over the last couple years with it. It's accurate enough to get some good groups too. It's pretty now but is going to get down in the dirt and used, just like before. Here's some details. Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 w/20' heavy barrel, 1-12 twist. Factory action and barrel. Warne Tactical 20 MOA scope base. LUCID L5 scope 6-24x50. TPS 30mm TSR scope rings, low. Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist Style 3 stock. Custom in-letting and Cerakote in FDE. Custom bolt knob from Ryan Newsome at Superior Precision Rifles. Timney trigger 1-1/2 to 4 lb. PTG Stealth M5 trigger guard. 5 and 10 round Accuracy International magazines. Karsten cheek rest. Harris bench rest bipod. Tactical Intervention Specialists Slip Cuff Sling, w/Talon heavy duty sling swivels. Voodoo Tactical rifle drag bag. With my Sig Carry Scorpion 1911 This is a 4 shot group from 200 yards. That's 1/4 MOA accuracy with a factory action and barrel and factory Federal ammo. |

Location: Illinois | Impressive groups. My Remington 700s are my most accurate centerfire rifles...love 'em! I personally think you'd be hard pressed to beat the accuracy of a 308 out of a 700 as far as stock rifles go. |

Warden, first of all I couldn't do it with the factory Hogue stock that came with the gun. Had to go aftermarket. I bought the PTG Stealth trigger guard from Midway USA. There are several others out there but this was an excellent price and has the same dimensions as Badger Ordnance metal but for 1/3 the price. I have read good reviews on the PTG metal and it's quality stuff. Link: PTG Trigger Guard AICS Detachable Box Mag Remington 700 Short Action It comes with the aluminum pillar beds but my Bell & Carlson stock already had them built in....along with the nice 1' thick full length aluminum bedding. The PTG bottom metal is slightly larger around the diameter so that had to be milled around the outside and also the inside. Most of the big companies are doing it on CNC machines and doesn't take long. I sent the stock to a friend of mine who has an overhead mill and he removed material a little at a time. We did a trade so I don't know what others charge. He did good work but took him a few hours of milling and fitting. He happened to have a short action Remington on hand to make sure of proper fitment. You have to get the right depth or the mags will either be too far or not far enough up into the action to feed properly. There are several gunsmiths and custom gun makers who do inletting. Badger Ordnance does it for their bottom metal and the PTG trigger guard is the same dimensions as theirs. The difference is in price. Badger trigger guards are $350. Their CNC machines are set up for the high dollar stocks, like the high end Manners, McMillan or HS Precision so they don't need an action to make sure of fit. They already have it figured out. My B&C stock is lower end compared to the others but for the money it's very good. And I have no problem with my groups shooting with it. If I didn't use this gun for hunting and strictly for target shooting I would have gotten something adjustable. |

Location: Riverton Wyoming | AI magazines (Accuracy International) will set you back some too. My five round was $75 and the ten round mag was $100. I really didn't want to spend this much on a new stock and bottom metal but the convenience of bottom loading will be worth it...whether I'm hunting or target shooting. I have always hated trying to cram rounds down into the top of the action with the scope in the way. Here's what the gun looked like shortly after I bought it with the factory Hogue stock and my old Millett scope. This is what it looked like a few weeks ago with the new scope and before the inletting and Cerkote. Got tired of the old camo paint job. |
